Royal Selangor have expanded the uses of pewter, exploring its many possibilities from children’s gifts and wine accessories to personal accessories such as cuff links and flash drives. Royal Selangor is also recognised for creating customised designs, such as producing champagne accessories for brands such as Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin. They have also created spectacular trophies for the Formula One races in Malaysia. Royal Selangor has grown from a small family-run business to one of the best known pewter brands. The increasing production of pewter over the years has resulted in Royal Selangor applying more efficient methods in pewter making but without compromising fine craftsmanship. Today, each item is hand cast by pouring molten pewter into steel moulds quickly and efficiently. After cooling, each individual pewter piece is polished and soldered onto other appendages such as spouts and handles, all done by hand. This attention to detail and precision has made Royal Selangor pewter pieces durable and timeless.
